AEM Kia and Hyundai Brethrens Get Lifetime of Performance!
Korean automakers Hyundai and Kia essentially come from the same factories and they share many of the same parts, yet both automakers prefer to take the approach that they act independently. The South Korean Hyundai conglomerate is responsible for a diversity of products from cars and steel manufacturing, to seafaring supertankers. Hyundai bought Kia Motors in 1998 and the two automakers were combined into the Hyundai Kia Automotive Group.
There’s currently rumored discussion that Hyundai and Kia could potentially merge to create a luxury/sports car brand. For now though the owners of select 2006 through 2012 Hyundai’s and Kia’s can share one definitive connection between the two automakers. By simply replacing their factory installed air filter with the AEM 28-20380 Dryflow air filter, they will both be rewarded with a lifetime of performance. Dryflow air filters are a direct replacement for the stock air filter, so no modifications will be required (refer to your factory manual for instructions).
With AEM Dryflow air filters, you’ll get an ideal balance of airflow, filtration, and performance. AEM Dryflow filters use an innovative high performance, oil-free, filtration material that takes the guesswork out of servicing and allows for easy cleaning. The thick, high-tech, washable, synthetic filter media increases airflow and has higher dirt-holding capacity. Oil-free Dryflow filters use environmentally friendly, mild, all-purpose cleaner, and come with easy to follow cleaning instructions. The Dryflow filter media is so durable in fact that it can withstand almost unlimited cleanings. Dryflow air filters will not void your Hyundai or Kia factory warranty. Additionally, all AEM replacement air filters for street vehicles come with a lifetime limited warranty.

The Subaru Rally Team has confirmed it will debut it’s new WRC Impreza at the Acropolis Rally of Greece later this month.
The Subaru team describes this newest Impreza as “the most radically different Subaru World Rally Car in 15 years”. Sounds exciting, I guess we’ll have to wait and see what that means.

HK: All New HKS Turbo Timers
HKS USA, Inc., celebrating its 35th year as the premier manufacturer and supplier of automotive performance systems and parts, is proud to announce the ninth generation of the HKS Turbo Timer.
A turbo timer allows an engine to idle for a preset amount of time after the ignition key has been turned to the off position and removed. By allowing a turbocharged engine to idle, oil continues to pass through the turbo until it has cooled down to the point where oil “coking” will not occur. Re-designed for 2008, the all new Turbo Timer Type-0 and Type-1 feature a new, slim low profile design with a separate LCD display and control unit following the same design concepts as the current HKS EVC and A/F Knock Amp.
The Turbo Timer Type-0 features a red LCD backlit display for easy visibility, 2 timer modes, and a battery voltage meter with a peak value indication and warning function.
The Turbo Timer Type-1 features a light blue LCD backlit display and has the same basic timing and voltage features as the Type-0 plus several monitoring and measurement functions. The Turbo Timer Type-1 features an Auto mode for the timer function allowing the Turbo Timer to automatically calculate optimum idling time according to the most recent driving pattern. Vehicle speed and RPM can be displayed on the Type-1’s LCD monitor and a speed warning level can be set. A two-stage RPM warning can also be set and used as a shift indicator. When a warning level is reached the Type-1’s LCD monitor will blink and an audible beep will sound. The HKS Turbo Timer Type-1 also features various measurement functions including 1/4 mile timer, 0-60 timer and a stopwatch function that can be used for lap timing. The Turbo-Timer Type-1 can read in either MPH/SAE or KPH/Metric.
New Honda Civic 5 Door
The boys at Honda sure can’t keep anything a secret. But then again, why would they want to keep the new Honda Civic 5 Door under wraps? With the recent trend in ‘going hatch’ (Subaru WRX/STi, Ford Festiva, Audi A3) it was just a matter of time before Honda revived their flagship bubble for another round.
Not only is this little hatch sporty from the factory, the Mugen treatment makes it all the more thought provoking. The feel of the current FA/FG Honda Civic seems well preserved, even with the extra ‘junk in the trunk’. The only remaining questions are: What powerplant with Honda bless this with – and – will it makes it to the states?
AEM: HD Water/Methanol Injection System

If you haven’t made the jump because you can’t find a reliable system on the market, then wait no more. AEM has just released their HD Water/Methanol Injection System complete with a 5-Gallon Reservoir, 150 PSI Pump, Progressive Controller and all hardware for a complete install. Run more Boost, Make more Power.
Perfect for Diesel or Gasoline applications.
Nissan Fairlady Z Concept
As with all good heritage vehicles, they start life as a stunning concept and blossom into something much more disappointing. The good news is, the ball is rolling. Nissan has been talking about a introducing an entry level RWD Coupe for quite some time now, and with a concept like this from Polish designer Iacoski- Nissan better start paying attention.
At first glance the design is simply stunning, but the longer you look at it, the more design cues from the classic Nissan/Datsun Z Car begin to emerge. The flared rear fenders, the sloping B-pillar with Z badge, the unmistakable bulge in the hood. All of these traits combined with modern day Nissan looks and technology make for a sexy and plausible Nissan Z Car revival.
AEM PR: Nissan Altima Cold Air Intake
AEM has introduced a Cold Air Intake for the 2007-08 Nissan Altima 3.5L V6. To gain power from the Altima engine, AEM designed a wrap-around airbox where the 3×5-inch synthetic DRYFLOW performance air filter resides. A custom injection molded air scoop also brings cool air from the front of the vehicle into the airbox directly to the air filter through an inlet pipe.
