New WRC Impreza to Debut

The Subaru Rally Team has confirmed it will debut it’s new WRC Impreza at the Acropolis Rally of Greece later this month.

WRC Subaru Impreza

The Subaru team describes this newest Impreza as “the most radically different Subaru World Rally Car in 15 years”. Sounds exciting, I guess we’ll have to wait and see what that means.

As expected Petter Solberg will be back in the saddle along with Chris Atkinson riding shotgun.

AEM PR: Fuel / Ignition Controller-8

AEM 30-1930

AEM’s F/IC (Part # 30-1930 & 30-1931) is the answer for late model ODBII vechicles with aftermarket forced induction. The AEM F/IC lends you a hand with the following:

  • Fuel & Ignition – Drive up to 8 fuel injectors or control up to 8 additional fuel injectors. The F/IC-8 can also retard ignition timing.
  • Boost Control – The F/IC-8 features built-in boost control. All that’s needed is AEM’s Boost Control Solenoid (Part # 30-2400)
  • Datalogger – With the F/IC-8 you can datalog to your PC with a USB connection or to the 2MB internal logging memory.
  • Can-Bus System – AEM has designed the F/IC-8 not to interfere with the factory Can-Bus system of late-model race vehicles.
Not only is the AEM F/IC available for Universal applications, but a direct bolt-on for late model Chrysler/Dodge vehicles is also available.

Turbosmart PR: New Dual Port BOVs – STI, EVO X and GTR

Turbosmart Dual Port PR

Key features that sets this Series of BOVs apart from the rest:

  • Incudes both atmospheric and bypass ports
  • Easily converts to a fully atmosphere or fully bypass valve
  • Sequential ports provide a quiet operation on mild boost and full performance at full boost
  • Simple installation and setup.
  • Anodized cap
  • 360 degree rotating nipple

Like all Turbosmart BOVs, the new Dual Ports are manufactured in Sydney, Australia under strict quality control.

HK: All New HKS Turbo Timers

HKS USA, Inc., celebrating its 35th year as the premier manufacturer and supplier of automotive performance systems and parts, is proud to announce the ninth generation of the HKS Turbo Timer.

A turbo timer allows an engine to idle for a preset amount of time after the ignition key has been turned to the off position and removed. By allowing a turbocharged engine to idle, oil continues to pass through the turbo until it has cooled down to the point where oil “coking” will not occur. Re-designed for 2008, the all new Turbo Timer Type-0 and Type-1 feature a new, slim low profile design with a separate LCD display and control unit following the same design concepts as the current HKS EVC and A/F Knock Amp.

HKS TT Group

The Turbo Timer Type-0 features a red LCD backlit display for easy visibility, 2 timer modes, and a battery voltage meter with a peak value indication and warning function.

The Turbo Timer Type-1 features a light blue LCD backlit display and has the same basic timing and voltage features as the Type-0 plus several monitoring and measurement functions. The Turbo Timer Type-1 features an Auto mode for the timer function allowing the Turbo Timer to automatically calculate optimum idling time according to the most recent driving pattern. Vehicle speed and RPM can be displayed on the Type-1’s LCD monitor and a speed warning level can be set. A two-stage RPM warning can also be set and used as a shift indicator. When a warning level is reached the Type-1’s LCD monitor will blink and an audible beep will sound. The HKS Turbo Timer Type-1 also features various measurement functions including 1/4 mile timer, 0-60 timer and a stopwatch function that can be used for lap timing. The Turbo-Timer Type-1 can read in either MPH/SAE or KPH/Metric.

New Honda Civic 5 Door

The boys at Honda sure can’t keep anything a secret. But then again, why would they want to keep the new Honda Civic 5 Door under wraps? With the recent trend in ‘going hatch’ (Subaru WRX/STi, Ford Festiva, Audi A3) it was just a matter of time before Honda revived their flagship bubble for another round.

Honda Civic 5Door

Not only is this little hatch sporty from the factory, the Mugen treatment makes it all the more thought provoking. The feel of the current FA/FG Honda Civic seems well preserved, even with the extra ‘junk in the trunk’. The only remaining questions are: What powerplant with Honda bless this with – and – will it makes it to the states?

AEM: HD Water/Methanol Injection System

AEM 30-3001

If you have a turbocharged vehicle, then the thought of methanol injection has probably crossed your mind at least once. If you haven’t made the jump because you can’t find a reliable system on the market, then wait no more. AEM has just released their HD Water/Methanol Injection System complete with a 5-Gallon Reservoir, 150 PSI Pump, Progressive Controller and all hardware for a complete install. Run more Boost, Make more Power.

Perfect for Diesel or Gasoline applications.

Nissan Fairlady Z Concept

As with all good heritage vehicles, they start life as a stunning concept and blossom into something much more disappointing. The good news is, the ball is rolling. Nissan has been talking about a introducing an entry level RWD Coupe for quite some time now, and with a concept like this from Polish designer Iacoski- Nissan better start paying attention.

Iacoski ZCar

At first glance the design is simply stunning, but the longer you look at it, the more design cues from the classic Nissan/Datsun Z Car begin to emerge. The flared rear fenders, the sloping B-pillar with Z badge, the unmistakable bulge in the hood. All of these traits combined with modern day Nissan looks and technology make for a sexy and plausible Nissan Z Car revival.

AEM PR: Nissan Altima Cold Air Intake

21-499P

AEM has introduced a Cold Air Intake for the 2007-08 Nissan Altima 3.5L V6. To gain power from the Altima engine, AEM designed a wrap-around airbox where the 3×5-inch synthetic DRYFLOW performance air filter resides. A custom injection molded air scoop also brings cool air from the front of the vehicle into the airbox directly to the air filter through an inlet pipe.

AEM PR: 2008 WRX/STI Cold Air Intake

21-478WR

AEM has just introduced a Cold Air Intake for the 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX and WRX STI 2.5L Turbo. This special edition intake system features a wrinkle red powdercoat finish specifically chosen for the Subaru models. The CAI uses a very clean designed heatshield that blocks hot air from the huge 9-inch DRYFLOW air filter. A CNC’d MAF adapter along with a built-in air straightener keep CELs away and fuel trims perfectly in line. This CAI generates amazing HP and Torque gains across the powerband on both the WRX and STI models.

AEM PR: Evo X Cold Air Intake

AEM Evo X CAI

AEM has just released a Cold Air Intake for the all-new ‘08 Mitsubishi EVO X. To gain power from the 4B11 MIVEC, AEM designed a fully enclosed airbox to house a 3×5″ DRYFLOW performance filter & utilize the factory air duct to draw the coolest air possible. The cross-linked polyethylene airbox leads into an aluminum CNC-machined MAF adapter which feeds the turbo by way of a high-flow turbo inlet constructed of ultra-strong EPDM rubber.
