ACT New Twin-Disc Clutch Kits For Honda/Acura B/K-Series Engines!

Advanced Clutch Technology (ACT) is pleased to introduce its new twin-disc clutch kits for the Honda B-series and K-series engine applications. These race twin-disc clutch kits are certified as meeting SFI Spec. 1.2.

The ACT race twin-disc clutch kits for the Honda B- and K-series engines offer Acura and Honda enthusiasts race-ready, direct bolt-in kits that require no modifications. These twin-disc clutch kits feature a pressure plate, two sintered iron discs, a XACT Prolite flywheel, release bearing, pilot bearing and alignment tool.

With ACT’s ability to design and manufacture diaphragm springs, we were able to keep the pedal load at a 22 percent increase over the stock pedal load, while increasing the clamp load by 88 percent over stock. The sintered iron discs allow for quick shifting and twice the surface area for high-heat capacity and long life. These kits can support up to 770 lbs./ft. of torque.

The XACT Prolite flywheels are a one-piece chrome-moly construction with machined slots to provide the lowest inertia and best throttle response. Also, ACT’s XACT flywheels can be cost-effectively resurfaced.

All ACT Race twin-disc kits are dynamically balanced as an assembly for trouble-free use. Each kit has an overall weight of 16 pounds, which is a 47 percent decrease in weight compared to the 30-pound stock kit.

AEM 09+ Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart Gets Cold Air Performance!

In 2009 Mitsubishi decided to expand and improve their Lancer offerings and one of their new high performance offerings came in the form of the Lancer Ralliart. This sports sedan fills the void in the Mitsubishi’s Lancer lineup between the naturally aspirated DE, ES, and GTS models and the super high performance Lancer Evolution. The Lancer Ralliart comes with a turbocharged 2.0L motor that delivers 237 horsepower and 253 lb-ft of torque to all 4 wheels through an automated dual-clutch manual transmission with shift paddles on the steering wheel.

AEM‘s 21-698C cold air intake system for 2009, 2010, and 2011 Lancer Ralliart models with 2.0 liter engines gives this impressive platform an estimated 16.8 horsepower and 23 lb-ft of torque to the wheels at 6050 RPM. The intake system comes with a low restriction rotomolded plastic tube and a large capacity airbox and airbox lid to isolate the filter from radiant heat under the hood. This precision tuned air intake system comes with AEM’s washable and reusable DryFlow air filter for excellent airflow and filtration and a filter minder gauge to indicate when it’s time to clean the filter. The air intake design utilizes the factory intake scoop to provide the car with fresh, cooler air from outside the vehicle.

AEM’s engineers went through several combinations of tube diameters, DryFlow air filter sizes, and sealed or unsealed airboxes to determine the best solution for the Ralliart. The goal was to maximize air flow to the turbo, minimize intake air temperatures (IATs), and maintain proper fuel trims to stay within the factory mass air flow (MAF) sensor calibration. The end result included a sealed airbox to maintain near ambient IATs. The final design also yielded low air velocity around the AEM DryFlow air filter. This low velocity around the filter element allows for even dust loading and helps prevent uneven flow characteristics which can affect MAF sensor readings.

The 21-698C cold air intake system maintains all factory connections, requires no programming changes to function properly and it is backed by AEM’s Limited Lifetime Warranty.

K&N 2011 Chevrolet Volt Gains Performance Jolt!

In crowning the Chevrolet Volt their “2011 Motor Trend Car of the Year,” Motor Trend magazine wrote “The future is here, and America is back in the game.” The magazine’s annual award is one of the most prestigious and coveted honors in the automotive industry.
