In 2011, the Chrysler group released their 3.6 liter mid-sized engine called Pentastar . These engines are capable of producing 300 horsepower, which is plenty of power to turn the wheels of cars like the Dodge Journey, Dodge Avenger and Chrysler 200.
K&N Engineering specializes in making air filters that are designed to increase horsepower. K&N has manufactured a performance air filter specifically designed for many of these Pentastar engines and the Chrysler and Dodge which they power. K&N air filters are made, not only for efficient filtration, but to allow air to flow freely.
With over 40 years of producing quality performance air filters, K&N air filters are referred to as “The World’s Best Air Filters.” K&N has released air filter part number 33-2470 for the 2011 and 2012 Dodge Avenger, 2011 and 2012 Dodge Journey, and 2011 and 2012 Chrysler 200 models with a 3.6 liter engine. The 33-2470 is a drop-in OE replacement air filter, so it directly replaces the factory air filter, and is incredibly easy to install.
The 33-2470 isn’t a paper disposable filter like the one that comes from the factory. It’s made from an oiled cotton gauze media. It is washable, reusable and can be used for up to 50,000 miles depending on driving conditions before it needs to be cleaned and re-oiled. This performance air filter is cleaned using K&N’s 99-5000 or 99-5050 Recharger Kits by following simple cleaning instructions. Also, the 33-2470 air filter is backed by K&N’s Million Mile Limited Warranty, just like all K&N OE replacement air filters for over-the-road applications.
