Advanced Clutch Technology (ACT) has released new high performance clutch kits and components for the 88-91 Toyota Camry 2.5L V6, 2004-2006 Toyota Camry 3.0L V6, 2004-2006 Toyota Camry 3.3L V6, and the 2002-2006 Toyota Camry LE and Solara 2.4L I-4.
ACT’s clutch kits for the applications listed above feature a Heavy Duty or Xtreme pressure plate that incorporates hardened diaphragm fingers for decreased wear. The Heavy Duty pressure plate provides a 29 percent increase in clamp force over the stock unit and the Xtreme pressure plate provides a 61 percent increase in clamp force over the stock unit. Both pressure plates meet SFI Specification 1.1.
The ACT Street Clutch Kits combine a Heavy Duty or Xtreme pressure plate and a Performance Organic Street Disc. The disc features special performance organic friction materials able to withstand increased heat and abuse, steel-backed linings for high-burst strength and modifications engineered for quicker shifting. ACT Street Clutch Kits provide a moderate and consistent pedal feel, smooth engagement and significantly improved durability. The torque capacity is increased up to 310 to 390 lbs./ft., depending on your pressure plate selection.
ACT Race Clutch Kits will hold between 400 to 500 lbs./ft. of torque depending on your pressure plate selection. They are combined with 6- or 4-pad spring-centered, or rigid hub cerametallic discs, which are very durable while allowing for quick shifting. The Xtreme discs are for high-power engines and recommended for track use only.
