The engineers at AEM saw potential in the GM-900 line up of models with the 4.8L and 5.3L engine configurations, and set they out to design a cold air intake system to unleash the true power of the GM powerplant. The air filter chosen for this project was a big 5-inch inlet oval filter which provides plenty of air flow and outstanding engine protection. After the overall design was finished, real world performance testing began. Dynamometer testing on three different vehicles showed an estimated increase of 10 horsepower and 10 ft-lbs of torque at 5100 RPM. This new intake fits a variety of 2009-2011 Chevrolet and GMC pick-ups and SUVs.
