Lamborghini Murcielago LP-670 SuperVeloce – Wow.

Lambo Murcielago LP670

How do you take Lamborghini’s Murciélago Supercar and make it even better? Well, let’s start out by dropping 220lbs. Then let’s up the downforce with what Lambo calls an “Aeropack Wing”. Then let’s massage the 6.5 V12 to 670HP and 487ft/lbs of Torque.

What you have after all the aforementioned modifications is a faster, lighter and more aerodynamically sound demigod stuffed into a carbon fiber shell. The LP-670 SuperVeloce also sports exterior modifications including more ducting for increased airflow a wicked ‘honeycomb’ engine cover and a color matched interior with ‘SV’ badging throughout.

To Infiniti… and Beyond!

Infiniti Eessence

So we all know Nissan skipped the North American International Auto Show however, maybe that was just to give themselves time to polish off this jewel they just debuted at the Geneva Motor Show. Behold the Infiniti Essence; a 600HP Front Engine RWD Coupe that is, in a word; jaw-dropping.

Powered by a Twin-Turbo 3.7L V6, the Infiniti Essence also draws power from a new electric engine being called the “3D Motor”. The split is 434HP via pistons, rods and turbos and another 158HP from the lithium-ion disc-shaped electric motor.

The design is not typical Japanese, and seems to be borrowing much from Italy and a certain prancing horse, but if the Infiniti Essence is a taste of what the future holds for Infiniti, then the future is good – really good.

Nissan GT-R Entering FIA-GT1

FIA GT GTR

Nissan has just announced that 2009 will likely see the entry of the Nissan GT-R into GIA-GT1 racing via private teams. Additionally, a factory backed NISMO built GT-R is slated to run four races in 2009 with Darren Turner from Gigawave Motorsports at the helm.

Not too many other details have been reveald. No word on if Nissan will campaign the VR38DETT or swap it in favor of the V8 VK45D8. Furthermore, there are no details as to where the car will even be running; although chances are the GT-R will make an appearance at LeMans.

APEXi: S1 Dampers

S1 Damper Logo

APEXi proudly introduces the S1 Damper line, developed by a team of APEXi engineers and professional racing drivers.

Ride quality and handling performance are not mutually exclusive. Almost all coilover suspension systems are designed for track use, but are not well matched for street use. In fact, most are sprung and dampened improperly for street use, which not only gives a harsh and unpleasurable ride, but also hurts grip performance when the suspension cannot conform to the terrain.

S1 Dampers

To address this gap, APEXi proudly introduces the S1 Damper line, with a specifically selected recipe of spring rates, oil and valving for high-performance street cars that double as weekend track machines. 100% made in Japan, with precision Japanese components.

Features

  • 20-Way damping adjustment to adapt to a variety of driving conditions.
  • Monotube design with 45mm diameter piston
  • Adjustable lower case design that allows ride height to be adjusted without affecting preload
  • Standardized 65mm spring allows the use of a wide variety of readily available springs
  • Front strut-type setups include camber adjustment plates that utilize premium quality NMB pillow bearings to minimize deflection, binding and noise
  • 100% Made in Japan, with precision Japanese components.
  • Overhaul and additional suspension services offered in-house by APEX Integration (APEXi USA Office)

Formula Un – Back in the US!

USF1 Logo

It’s official guys, Formula 1 is back on US Shores. Well, kinda. There are no races scheduled on US soil yet, but their *is* a new US F1 team being put together and seeking a 2010 entry after not having any involvement in the past two years.

The team will be lead by Peter Windsor and Ken Anderson both of which have prior F1 experience and the team will be based out of Charlotte, North Carolina. No official word on who will be piloting the vehicle or even supplying the engine for that matter, but I’m sure it’ll be big names and big news once details emerge.
