Honda Concept FC Sport

Well, look at that. At this year’s LA Auto Show Honda decided to pull a fast one, with a fast one of their own.

Honda FC Sport Press

The Honda FC Sport shows off Honda’s vision of an enviromentally friendly sports car. The “FC” stands for “Fuel Cell”, as in hydrogen fuel cell – the same technology powering the Honda FCX Clarity, which are currently on the road in California (and beyond).

Who knows if the FC Sport will ever hit the roads. Currently this concept is being touted as stricty a design study, but from what I see Honda might be onto something.

The Evora has Landed…

The mysterious Lotus ‘Eagle’ had caused quite a buzz some time ago, but the ‘official’ version of that concept has landed at the LA Auto Show in the form you see below: The Evora.

Lotus Evora

Being the Elise/Exige fan I am, it’s great to see Lotus step it up a notch on the luxury scale. Not only did they stretch the platform a bit to fit an extra set of seats in the back, they also covered the interior with leather and added some much needed 21st Century gadgetry.

As with the Elise/Exige, power comes from another Toyota sourced engine; a 3.5L V6, producing 276HP. Weighing in at a hair under 3,000lbs, that power should be good for 5 second 0-60 and 160+ top speed. Talks of a convertible and even a supercharged version are already circulating, but I’m just happy to this car will see the light of day.

Variant 3 Coilovers for the Nissan GTR

KW suspensions announces their Variant 3 stainless steel constructed coilover for the 2009 Nissan GTR.

KW GTR Variant 3

The KW suspensions coilover for the Nissan GTR enables the owner to lower their vehicle 10-30mm on the front axles and 15-35mm on the rear axles and retains enough travel to handle maximum load and dynamic loads during driving. Adjustable (and independent reacting) rebound and compression damping allows a truly individual performance driving setup for those technically demanding drivers. Compression dampening adjustment is conducted in the low-speed range, while the high-speed set-up, so decisive for driving comfort, has been pre-set by KW engineers.

Important characteristics such as safety, quality and performance are all taken into consideration with each KW coilover design. Each vehicle application is specifically designed and engineered for a proper range of motion, min/max weight loads and min/max lowering. All these requirements are met while retaining its performance handling characteristics. Each KW coilover suspension is produced with unique stainless steel “inox-line” technology. The stainless steel construction internally and externally provides long term durability and corrosion resistance from the elements.

All KW coilovers pass stringent German TUV safety and quality testing standards. Each kit is sold TUV approved.

A Peek at the New NSX

It seems like we’ve been anticipating the new NSX even before production of the previous generation stopped. Maybe it was gonna be built, maybe it wasn’t (LF-A anyone?) – but we knew we wanted it. Or at least we wanted to see it on the road.

New NSX Cutaway

Well these pictures show the dream will become a reality, and looking at the new specs; now I really wanna see it on the road.

According to Auto Express, the new NSX will boast 560 HP produced by a 5.5L V10 mated to a semi-auto 6-speed transmission with SH-AWD. All that power and technology should yield sub 4 second 0-60 times, 200-MPH top speed and gobs of grip.

Monday Morning History Lesson…

Yeah, yeah – you haven’t been in high school for a while. That doesn’t mean a lesson first thing in the morning is bad for you. Check out this cool page I stumbled across this morning, to most people it’s useless knowledge, but as such a car guy as you probably are, you’ll probably find it interesting.

Mazda Logos

This article found over at Neat-o-Rama, explores the history behind some of the most recognizable car logos in the world. It even delves into some history on each company including it’s roots, the inspiration for the logos and much more.

The AeroCatch Panel Latches come in two different versions; a ‘Flush’ style that mounts from underneath the body panel or the ‘Plus Flush’ style which mounts on top of the body panel. Each version is available in a keyed locking or non-locking version.
