Password JDM Press Release – Nissan GT-R Carbon Fiber Front Fenders

PWJDM GTR Carbon Fiber fenders

Introducing the Password JDM GT-R Wide Frontal Fenders… It’s a known fact that the GTR suffers from “understeer” which will be amplified once you add more power to the machine. Let’s face it… how can we ever leave “well enough” alone? There is nothing wrong with leaving a perfectly great machine like the GT-R in bone stock form. Hell, in stock trim, it kicks the living daylights out of cars 3 times it MSRP. For the fellas here at PWJDM… and especially for ADHD me… leaving well enough alone can be left to the competition. I was born to modify the hell out of any car that I own. The GT-R is no different.

For starters… we have done quite a bit, and for the most recent, we have completed the development on the PWJDM GT-R Wide Fenders. Extended a full 38mm, and much lighter than stock, the PWJDM Wide Front Fenders were designed to accommodate a 20×11 wheel wrapped in 315/30/20 Toyo R888. These are the widest tires available for the rear of a stock GTR, it was only fitting that we develop Wide Front Fenders so these can be had up Front as well. Being an AWD car, it’s only fitting that the same tires are on all four corners. With these PWJDM GT-R Wide Front Fenders, we can certainly claim that our goals have been achieved. You can easily push that corner that much faster when you know your car will be able to handle it. Getting wider fenders to accommodate wider tires are a must if you seriously drive your GT-R. Road sailing becomes that much more of a thrill now. ?

Made entirely of Dry Carbon and reinforced with Kevlar to safeguard from thrown rocks and such… the PWJDM GT-R Wide Front Fenders are the ultimate must have upgrade for any GT-R whether you have power upgrades or not. You will definitely feel the benefits of having larger rubbers up front instantaneously. There isn’t an option like this being offered by anyone else. These took us 200+ days to develop. They have been well thought out. Much consideration was given to aerodynamics, aesthetics, functionality, and having them “ADD” to the overall stunning looks of the factory GT-R. Although aggressive in theory, these Wide Fenders are actually pretty subtle looking. We also deepened the side vents on the fenders to help alleviate the high pressures at increased speeds inside the fender well. The front wheel arches flow perfect with the rear quarters of the car so well that you would think these were designed by factory themselves… to accommodate where the fenders meets the front bumper, we also designed a bumper extension that also deletes the front side markers for a sleek clean look. Since the clear side markers are so hard to get a hold of for a reasonable price, we decided to engineer these fenders to delete them so you won’t have to bother paying a ransom for them. These Wide GT-R Fenders along with the bumper extensions are sold bare dry carbon and is ready for refinishing prep work(painting)**.

**Installation is not difficult, but should be left to a professional body shop. Once fitted, the fit and finish is exact. We designed these to hold a very tight tolerance, so we undersized all the holes which can easily be opened up with a drill/rotary for a perfect fit and finish.

  • Ultra light Dry carbon Construction
  • Kevlar Reinforced 1 piece single op produced
  • 38mm wider and lighter than stock
  • Accommodates 315/30-20 R888 on 20×11 without the need for spacers
  • Includes matching bumper extensions
  • Matches and flows well with the rear quarter panels
  • Deletes front side markers
  • Addresses the “understeer” issues with the GT-R
  • …and attracts females in droves!

Nissan Z Celebrates its 40th Birthday in Style!

Nissan Z Turns 40October 22nd will mark the 40th anniversary of the Nissan (Datsun) Z.  First released in 1969 as the Datsun 240Z, the ‘Zed’ has evolved through the years, and we’ve had a front row seat to watch it grow.  As a child it was an impressive sports coupe that made US automakers sit up and take notice with it’s straight-six that grew in size and stature each generation.  From the 2.4L 240Z, to the 2.6L 260Z, to the 2.8L in the 280Z each iteration added more bang-for-the-buck and had people looking at the little coupe that could.  By the time adolescences came around, turbocharged versions of the car were available and the straight six was being ditched for a more robust V6 setup.

The early 80’s marked the entry of the 300ZX with the most iconic version coming in 1990 with the Z32 300ZX Twin Turbo.  A powerhouse and a design far ahead of its time, the 300ZX became the tuner’s choice and fired the first shots in what would becomes the Japanese Supercar Wars.  A brief hiatus in the late 1990’s set the stage for a triumphant return in 2003 with the Z33 350Z and subsequently the Z34 370Z, both of which follow the same trajectory as the Z didin the 70s with increased displacement release after release.

Skunk2 and Compass360 – ‘09 Grand-Am Champions!

360 Racing Skunk2

Compass360 Racing and its trio of Skunk2-sponsored Civic Sis claimed the Grand-Am KONI Sports Car Challenge Street Tuner championship title October 4 at VIR (Virginia International Raceway) and went on to nab First Place in both Driver Points and Manufacturer Points categories. The win marks the first championship for the Skunk2-backed C360R team as well as for Driver Points champ Christian Miller and Manufacturer Points winner Honda.

After 10 races across eight states and provinces in the U.S. and Canada, and nearly 2,000 miles of racing completed, the Grand-Am KONI Sports Car Challenge ended its 2009 season on VIR’s 3.27-mile, 17-turn course. After all was said and done, the C360R team closed out 2009 as the top-finishing Honda at all 12 races, scoring every point possible for the title manufacturer. A four-hour combined Grand Sport/Street Tuner class race, the season-closing Bosch Engineering Octoberfest was the first of its kind. Miller, who co-drove the C360R No. 74 Civic Si along with Randy Pobst, entered Sunday’s season finale with a 31-point lead and a total of five podium finishes, including victories at Homestead Miami Speedway and New Jersey Motorsports Park where the team clinched a three-way victory earlier this year.

Miller qualified seventh in the No. 74 Skunk2-powered Civic Si and only needed to complete 30 minutes to earn his, Compass 360’s, and Honda’s first Driver, Team and Manufacturer titles, respectively. And Miller did so handily, hobbling the Si in with a broken axle after more than an hour on track—more than enough time to secure the victory. “My hat’s off once again to the team. Every single race this season Compass 360 has given me a flawless car,” Miller says. “’Don’t crash the car’ was the message I’d been given repeatedly.” Despite the broken axle, Miller was still able to flash a smile after picking up his first series title.

“Absolute reliability.” That’s what Miller, who finished the season with two victories and nine top 10s, says about the Skunk2-powered Civic Si. “Everybody—Honda, Skunk2, Compass 360—every single person involved with this team made this happen.” We only won a couple of races early in the season, and every single race, the car has been flawless. We’ve stayed out of trouble and we were able to go the whole distance without scratching the car.”

Password JDM Press Release – Nissan 370Z Carbon Fiber Cooling Plate

PWJDM PWCCP-Z34-00C

The cooling system is a vital component of your 2009+ Nissan 370Z operation. The radiator needs constant airflow, with minimum turbulence, to be as efficient as possible. Unfortunately, gaps in the structure around the radiator allow air to escape, resulting in lost efficiency.

Password: JDM has designed the PWJDM Dry Carbon Fiber Cooling Plate for the 2009+ Nissan 370Z to eliminate this problem. By preventing air to escape over the top of the radiator, these cooling plates allow a maximum amount of airflow directly to your radiator, resulting in reduced coolant temperatures during aggressive driving.

Not only will you gain cooling efficiency with the PWJDM radiator cooling plate, you will also clean up your cluttered engine bay. Unlike the other cooling plates out there, ours is super light, often more than twice as light as other carbon versions.
