Overview

Water/Methanol injection users now have the sophisticated safety system they’ve always needed in an easy to use package. Unlike most competitor systems that only check flow at a single point, AEM’s Injection Monitor is a smart system that monitors the entire flow curve. Flow versus injection rate data is continuously collected and any deviation away from an acceptable baseline flow curve will trigger an alarm output. This output can be used to reduce boost, pull timing, switch maps, or any other function to protect an engine from harmful detonation in the event there is an unsafe operating condition.

K&N A4 Owners get extra 18HP

K&N continues to improve vehicle performance through its continuous production of new air intake systems guaranteed to increase horsepower and acceleration. K&N’s air intake (69-9505T) for 2009 and 2010 Audi A4, A4 Cabriolet and A4 Quattro models with a 2.0 liter engine is just another example of K&N’s dedication to outstanding performance. The Audi A4 is an entry-level luxury car with elegant styling and sharp handling. The 2.0 liter engine however, lacks the power one would expect from such a prestigious car.

K&N product developers looked at the restrictive factory intake setup of the Audi A4 and immediately knew they could achieve more horsepower. “Along with a body change in 2009, the Audi A4 air box was also relocated,” said product manager Bert Heck. “We had to start from scratch. Our ultimate goal was to get as much power out of the vehicle as we could without affecting the drivability of the vehicle. Older A4 model designs made doing this very difficult.”

Development began with the testing of varying intake tube diameters with the mass air sensor installed in both the tube and in the factory mass air housing. After a series of testing sessions and design changes K&N engineers came up with a design that met all goals.

“With the limited space and use of the factory mass air housing, little space was left for the air filter,” commented Heck. “We had to eliminate the intake tube and design a custom hose to replace it. This saved space and allowed for a larger K&N air filter.” The air intake’s filter, part RF-1047, is a cone shaped, high-flow air filter that provides excellent filtration, outstanding engine protection, and less restriction than the factory air filter.

A custom heat shield was also designed as part of the 69-9505T intake. It helps to reduce the amount of hot engine compartment air going into the engine. It also utilizes the factory fresh air inlet to direct cooler outside air into the air intake.

K&N’s comprehensive testing of the 69-9505T utilized three test vehicles with approximately 100 dyno pulls, road testing and computer monitoring. The final result showed a power gain of 18.14 horsepower at 4435 rpm with the use of K&N’s 69-9505T air intake system.

Installation of the 69-9505T air intake system is easy with K&N’s photo illustrated instruction sheet. K&N’s 69-9505T air intake system typically installs on 2009 and 2010 Audi A4, A4 Cabriolet and A4 Quattro models with the 2.0 liter engine in 90 minutes or less with common hand tools.

Synapse New Synchronic Diverter Valve

The Synapse Synchronic DV is a compact, zero-diaphragm, high-flow Diverter Valve actuating within 25 milliseconds. Push or pull orientation allows re-circulated or vent-to-atmosphere discharge. The body is near-net, investment cast, aerospace-grade Aluminium followed by CNC machining of all components including the forged 6061 actuator assembly. Mounting flanges are interchangeable for SB/DV series and users can bolt-on upgrade from an existing BOV/DV or weld for a new project. Moroso New Electric Water Pump for LSx Motors

Moroso has just released a new Electric Water Pump for LSx Motors. The new 63566 Electric Water Pump mounts directly to the stock water pump location and eliminates the bulky LS water pump with a more compact, cost effective pump.

The drive belt is eliminated to save horsepower, while providing maximum circulation for cooling efficiency during all driving conditions; especially while idling. Since BBC Water Pumps have been around for years, many different drive and pulleys are available, such as Moroso Part # 63836 Alternator/Vacuum Pump Mount. It does however require the use of a Remote Thermostat Housing such as Moroso Part # 63425 or 63426.

The new LSx Electric Water Pump draws only 7 amps, allowing the battery to remain more charged during racing without an alternator and is compatible with 12 and 16 volt systems.

K&N More Go For The 2010+ Toyota 4Runner & FJ Cruiser!

The 2010 Toyota 4Runner and FJ Cruiser represent a long legacy of tough, dependable, off-road performance. The K&N 77-9034KP intake system is designed to replace the factory air filter, air box, and air intake tube with components which are less restrictive, so that the vehicle’s engine performs up to its full potential. Installation of the 77-9034KP is easy, and begins with the removal of the stock intake pieces. In their place go a brightly finished, mandrel-bent aluminum tube, and a large cone shaped air filter that can withstand the abuse of dust and dirt on any trail these vehicles might venture down.

These components have been designed by K&N engineers to be much less restrictive to air flow than their factory counterparts. With K&N’s intake these engines will not waste power trying to pull in the air they need. In addition to being less restrictive, the K&N air filter included in this system (part number RF-1044XD) is protected by a powdercoated steel heat shield, which helps keep intake air temperatures down where they belong. A K&N test on this filter design resulted in showing it has excellent filtration at 99.01% overall efficiency (ISO 5011 test results). According to testing performed on K&N’s dynamometer, the air intake system pushes out an impressive additional 13.55 horsepower and 14.55 lb. ft. torque at 5000 RPM on a 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser.
