K-Tuned Concentrate on Shifting Between 1st Thru 4th Gear!

The oem shifter and cable system might be fine for a car going to pick up some groceries, but in a performance car this setup is definitely lacking. It is unfortunately all too common that people are missing gears with K-series transmission which can be costly.

In a stock RSX or a swapped car a mis-shift from 1-2-1 or 2-3-2 usually results in a blown motor with a big ugly hole in the block. Using feedback from our family of racers, K-Tuned has come in and developed a complete shifter system to keep the gears going where they are supposed to be.

The K-Tuned Shifter 5th Gear Lockout comes with our Shifter Billet Arm. This 100% billet aluminum arm uses a durable delrin pivot ball with much tighter clearances than stock. We also fitted the arm with a stiffer neutral return spring to help remove shifter “play” or “looseness” that people commonly complain about. Now for the tricky part, the 5th Gear Lockout is like a guide that was designed to keep the shifter going into the correct gear.

Start with a billet template that fits over the base of the oem shifter box. On this base we designed a spring loaded pin to lock the shifter out of the 5-6-R section of the shifter. By doing this the user just needs to focus on shifting to 4 corners.

However we made it with 2 settings. When setup in the release setting, 4th gear opens the shifter up for a normal shift to 5th if needed. Designed to fit all oem shifter boxes from K20A/A2/ and Z1 engines and also the EM2 Civic shifter box, this part is like an insurance policy for your engine. Street car or race car our guided 5th Gear Lockout will definitely keep your gears going in the right spot.

AEM Cold Air Intakes For Mazda 3!

For 2010 and 2011 2nd generation Mazda 3 models with manual transmission, AEM has released cold air intake parts 21-695C (Charcoal Grey) and 21-695P (Polished Silver finish). The 21-695C intake has been dyno tested showing an estimated 6.7HP gain at 6100 rpm.

 

AEM intake systems are designed to be complete bolt on upgrades for specific vehicle models and include a durable and easy to clean Dryflow air filter. AEM’s air filters do not use oil and are designed to increase horsepower and torque for vehicles like the Mazda 3. AEM Dryflow air filters used on AEM air intakes can be used for up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is necessary depending on driving conditions. ACT Heavy Duty Clutch Kits For The Heavy Duty 07-10 Jeep Wrangler!

Advanced Clutch Technology (ACT) has released Heavy Duty clutch kits for the 2007-2010 Jeep Wrangler 3.8L.

ACT’s new clutch kits for the 2007-2010 Jeep Wrangler include a Heavy Duty pressure plate, a choice of disc, release bearing, pilot bearing and alignment tool. The Heavy Duty pressure plate incorporates hardened diaphragm fingers for decreased wear and provides a 37 percent increase in clamp force over the stock unit.

The ACT Street clutch kits combine the Heavy Duty pressure plate with a performance organic street disc. The disc features premium organic friction materials able to withstand increased heat and abuse, steel-backed linings for high-burst strength and modifications engineered for quicker shifting. The ACT Street clutch kit provides a moderate and consistent pedal feel, smooth engagement and significantly improved durability. These kits have increased torque capacity up to 530 lbs./ft.

The ACT Race clutch kits combine the Heavy Duty pressure plate with a cerametallic Xtreme Race disc, which is available in 6-pad, spring-centered or rigid-hub design. These discs are very durable while allowing for quick shifting. The Xtreme Race discs are for high-powered engines and recommended for track use only. The ACT Race clutch kits will hold 680 lbs./ft. of torque.

GTSPEC Fix The Roll Center/Bump Steer On Your 93-11 Subaru Impreza!

GTSPEC Roll Center/Bump Steer kit is a must on all lowered vehicles. Lowered vehicles that are not equipped with this kit are prone to poor alignment geometry. Currently, few kits on the market are marketed towards reduction in bump steer, re-alignment of camber/caster, increase of stability, reduction in under steer, improvement in steering feel and steering response. Lowering the center of gravity of a vehicle is the key to better handling. The greater angles that are increased by lowering the vehicle also puts stress on axles, knuckles, tie rods, ball joints, control arms, and bushing, to name a few. With the GTSPEC Roll Center/Bump Steer kit install, correct alignment geometry is regained and stress on the suspension components will be reduced. JE Asymmetrical Sport Compact Pistons

The JE sport compact line now includes Asymmetrical Piston Forgings. The Asymmetrical design reduces weight in areas not necessary and adds strength to areas needed. All JE asymmetrical parts will now feature a pin offset and narrow pin design for lighter weight. In most cases there is a 10% reduction in weight.

Asymmetrical parts which will replace all of our 81mm-84.5mm shelf parts. This will Include Audi/VW’s, Acura/Honda’s, Toyota, Mazda, and Nissan’s currently in the line up.

Asymmetrical pistons ranges in 81-88mm bore.
