Progress Press Release – 2009+ Honda Fit Suspension Components

Progress 09 Honda Fit 62.1061

The Progress Group, Inc. has developed a rear anti-roll bar and sport lowering springs for the 2009+ Honda Fit.  The rear anti-roll bar is 19mm solid, alloy steel that bolts directly onto the rear axle beam for an easy, bolt-on installation.  This new anti-roll bar system will improve chassis balance, quicken steering response, and minimize body roll while cornering.  All Progress anti-roll bars are manufactured in-house, feature precision MIG-welded ends, and are powder coated metallic gray.

Progress 09 Honda Fit 40.1061

Who says you can’t make a fuel-sipping commuter a good looking, canyon carving machine?  Combine the rear anti-roll bar with the all-new Progress sport-lowering springs and the FWD hatch becomes a sporty econo-box with some much improved handling.  The springs feature sport-tuned rates and a modest drop of 1.2″ in the front and 1.0″ in the rear.  They have been developed for use with the OEM or sport dampers.  The springs are cold wound, shot peened, pre-set, and include a lifetime warranty.

Progress rates:

160 lbs/in. front (2.8 kg/mm)

Nissan 350Z Dragster? It’s Zed, baby… Project Zed

Project Zed Nissan 350Z

“Who’s 350Z is this?”
“It’s a Dragster, baby”
Who’s Dragster is this?”
“It’s Zed”
“Who’s Zed?”
Project Zed, baby. Project Zed.”

Project Zed is the first Pro Class 350Z dragster to hit Europe, and no, we’re not talking the ‘I think this is gonna dip into the 10s’ dragster.  This is a hand built, tube frame, one-piece front end, purpose built drag car which  is scheduled to run at the FIA European Finals September 10th-13th.

Project Zed utilizes the VQ35 V6, which has been reworked to make an absurd 1900HP and is rumored to hit 60MPH in 1.2 seconds, 168MPH in 4.1seconds and 215MPH in a mere 6.6 seconds.  0-215MPH about a second off from what a stock 350Z does 0-06 in?  Wow.

K&N Press Release – 2009 Honda Fit Owners get an Extra 5HP

69-1017TTK

The 2009 Honda Fit was completely redesigned for 2009. It is a bit longer and wider than the 2008 model and has added interior space, sharper handling, enhanced seating functionality, and a more powerful engine.

K&N has designed a performance air intake system (69-1017TTK) in black for the 2009 Honda Fit with a 1.5 liter engine that is guaranteed to increase power.  K&N dynamometer tests show the 1.8 liter engine gained 4.53 horsepower at 6000 RPMs with this air intake kit.

The 69-1017TTK has lower restriction than the factory air box system. It draws air through a high flow washable and reusable chrome top K&N air filter (RC-9630) which is protected by a powder coated heat shield.

69-1017TTK InstalledThe heat shield directs incoming fresh air from the factory air inlet into the air filter and isolates the K&N air filter from the engine compartment for better performance. The heat shield assembly is installed into the engine bay using factory mounting points and attaches to the intake tube.

The 69-1017TTK integrates the mount from the vehicle’s mass air sensor. Remove the mass air sensor from your vehicle’s stock air box and install it into K&N’s less restrictive mandrel bent aluminum tube using the provided K&N hardware.

All the OE emissions devices are reused and the MAS placed in a location that works with the factory settings. The provided crankcase vent hose attaches to the aluminum intake tube. The 69-1017TTK can be easily installed in 90 minutes or less and is backed by the famous K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty.

Password: JDM Press Release – Balanced Shift Knob

PWISK-HON

A shift knob is often the most overlooked mod you can get for your car. It’s more than just the way it looks… it’s also the way it feels in the palm of your hands and while you’re driving. Too light, and it feels like a ping pong ball, too heavy and it feels like a brick that will break something. Ideally, you’d want something in between… this is why we came up with the PWJDM Balanced Shift knob. This shift knob by design was well thought out… just like all of our products, we engineer things thoroughly and well ahead of the competition. Putting a name on a product is something we take seriously here at PWJDM.

Ergonomically designed and optimally balanced to 6.1oz, the PWJDM Balanced Shift knob is the perfect item for any Honda with a manual transmission. Through all the prototyping and testing we did… we found 6.1oz to be the magic number for a shift knob on a FWD car. At 6.1oz, the PWJDM Balanced Shift Knob perfectly pairs with the shifter rod length of any B, D, H or K series. It’s so well designed, that you can feel it while you’re driving. You don’t get that uneasy (I feel like something just broke) shifting feeling that’s common with a heavy knob or the insecure (am I really in gear?) feeling you get when a knob is too light. With the increased ergonomics of your driving experience… it will just make it that much more fun to roll your car around town. Made of aircraft grade 6061, the PWJDM Balanced Shift Knob comes completely anodized for corrosion protection. Besides the functionality of this design, there is also a feature that’s an industry first. You have the option to purchase a colored washer set that you can use to match the look of your vehicle. By switching out the colored washer, you can truly get unique look. Threaded to a metric10×1.5, this shift knob will fit many other vehicles besides Hondas.

– Optimally balanced to 6.1oz.
– Ergonomically designed for the perfect driving feel.
– Color matched options.
– PWJDM designed, engineered, and manufactured in-house.
– Anodized billet 6061, Made in the USA.
– Metric 10×1.5 pitch, will fit Hondas and other vehicles with the same thread size.
